Driven by the Artistic Leadership of Gabriella and Natassia Parson, daughters of the Artistic Director of Ballet Creole; Patrick Parson. Kreole Dance Ensemble is a performing ensemble which has quickly matured since its inception in 1995. It’s members, aged 9 to 15, are chosen from the children's dance classes held at the School of Ballet Creole which trains the members of the ensemble in Afro-Caribbean, African, Hip - Hop and Contemporary dance. Mirroring the professional company, Ballet Creole, their repertoire includes African and Caribbean dances and other contemporary dance forms. In chosen performances, they are accompanied by members of the Creole Drummatix playing a variety of traditional drums and percussion.
Kreole Dance Ensemble has become popular as a performing ensemble for a variety of events. They serve as a inspiration to children and youth audiences and exemplifies what children and youth can achieve through discipline and commitment to a sustained development in the Arts.
At the 1995 Jones & Jones Talent Search Competition Kreole Dance Ensemble was awarded first place in the "Best Dance" category, and second place in the overall competition. In September of 1998, Kids Creole was invited to perform for Nelson Mandela at his inaugural visit to Toronto at the Sky Dome before a crowd of 40,000 and in the same year they participated in YTV's International Day of the Youth. Kreole Dance Ensemble members are active in the youth arts community and have been seen on YTV Youth and Children's programs. In May of 1999 they performed at the renowned annual Children's Milk Festival and have been a active participant with notable presence in the Kiwanis Dance Festival of Greater Toronto.
