Picasso Limited Edition Lithographs

“Picasso amazed the world with his versatility and genius and bestowed a legacy of art admired for generations.

Picasso Estate Collection of Lithographs

After Picasso's death in 1973, his granddaughter Marina inherited a portfolio of images that have come to be known as the Picasso Estate Collection. The images in this portfolio were printed as lithographs, meticulously created after the original works (Oil Paintings, Watercolors, Pastels, Charcoal Drawings, etc.) by Master Chromist Marcel Salinas, who worked closely with Picasso during his lifetime.

The lithographs are beautifully printed in an edition of 500 on first-quality Arches paper. To ensure authenticity, each print is signed and numbered in pencil by Marina Picasso and embossed with the estate and chromist's seals, along with the legend on the reverse "Approved by the heirs of Pablo Picasso".

Ballet Creole has the honour of having received a generous and gracious gift of a small collection of these lithographs. They include thirteen different images from the original portfolio of Picasso images that he left behind. And, Ballet Creole is in a position to make these beautiful pieces of art available to the public.

On May 6, 2010 a Pablo Picasso painting of his mistress sold to an unidentified telephone bidder for $106.5 million at Christie’s in New York – a world record price for any work of art at an auction. The 1932 work – Nude, Green Leaves and Bust - had a presale estimate of between $70m and $90m.

While an original Picasso may be out of reach, it is possible to acquire an Estate-approved piece for a very modest amount. The print series in Ballet Creole's possession has previously been sold at Canadian and international auctions and contains the iconic images of bull fights, nudes, cubism and musical instruments that have come to be so strongly associated with Picasso’s work.

We are thrilled to share this beautifully crafted, meticulously reproduced art with the public and we invite you to experience the joy of admiring its excellence in your very own living space.

All proceeds collected from the acquisitions of these stunning works will go directly to Artists, supporting the artistic legacy and contribution of the Ballet Creole dance company & Ballet Creole school of performing Arts.
